It's always a pleasure to be provided a glimpse into an eccentric artist's mental space. I've been a fan of Kelsey Brookes for a couple of years now and if it's one thing that I admire about his work, it's that it invites every viewer onto a travelling mindfuck each time that it's viewed. I'm always appreciative of his mental stimulation. Thanks to Rogier Postma, we were able to witness the mind behind Kelsey's canvas and gain a better understanding about his artistry.

Artistically Correct | Francesca Woodman

See more than just what you see. 

The fact that Francesca committed suicide at the tender age of 22, a little time before this work & others of hers were released, stimulates my curiosity of what was it that she was trying to tell people. She was known to battle depression and these images align closely with that type of emotional void. It makes you see that sometimes the most silent questions, have the loudest answers.  

Let The Arts Roam: El Mac & Retna

This  video focuses on two famous artists, El Mac & Retna, out of Los Angeles who provide their perception on the aerolist world and their own work. And let me say, these two guys have created some of the most intricate wall murals...ever. I think graffiti is probably the most underrated art form in the world, speaking in terms of those who stand outside of that artistic area. For the longest, I have always called anyone who creates any type of art...an artist. I don't believe in creating labels or segregating each different type because at the end of the day, it's all beauty in the form of expression. Or better yet, everyone is just letting the arts roam. I do love how El Mac calls himself an Aerolist though...dope.

ARTwork: Dum English (Chris Brown x Ron English)

During the launch of their collaborative toy line called Dum English, Chris Brown and Ron English allowed some footage of the event to be captured, and Chris also participates in a short interview about his artistic endeavors. I really enjoy this aspect of his creativity because he truly appreciates & respects the art world. He also makes some dope paintings. 

Artistically Correct: Breathe

This design is one of many by the collective known as Nicebleed, that consists of the artists known as Francis Minoza and Laurence Minoza, who are based out of the Phillipines. I love this piece in particular because it is a great depiction of some of my days, which are currently filled with so much chaos that sometimes I neglect my ability to just breathe, and take every moment all in. New Music: Animal

I'm loving the fact that more quality artists are emerging on the music scene, and receiving genuine support & recognition on top of that. While I do not know much about this new-comer, Travi$ Scott, I can definitely say he's a unique down south artist who is adding to the extinction of the stereotypical southern rapper. He hails from Houston, TX and not only can he flow with substance, but he produces some nice tracks as well, such as the 'Animal' track below that features King Clifford Harris for a nice additive to the mix. I'm looking forward to the things to come from Mr. Scott. I shall stay tuned...
