If you are an art geek like myself then you must see this documentary focused on the legendary artist, Jean-Michel Basquiat. I have always been fascinated with his story but so often, his story has been told from his past acquaintances and in this film, he provides some of that story himself. It's pretty fascinating. It provides a look into who Jean-Michel, the man was and not just the artist. A friend of mine watched it and she informed me that she didn't like it because she felt it withheld a certain truth, but I argued that the only people who will ever know Jean-Michel Basquiat's truth is himself, and God; and neither of us here can speak to either one about it. So, regardless of how one feels about what type of man he was or wasn't, he is one of the most prolific artists in history and while his physical presence is absent, his spirit will live on forever as one of the greatest artists...ever.
